Effective 03/31/2025, users will no longer be able to send or receive money using the Zelle® app. To continue using Zelle®, members currently relying on the Zelle® app must re-enroll through one of the more than 2,200 banks and credit unions that offer Zelle®, including ours. If you are already using Zelle® within our online banking or mobile app, no action is required. You can continue to send and receive money through your online or mobile banking account. Keeping Your Transactions Safe

The security of your accounts and personal information is our top priority. To help protect you from fraud, we’ve introduced a new One-Time Passcode (OTP) security feature for certain online purchases. This enhanced security feature is designed to help block unauthorized users from making fraudulent online purchases with your card, giving you peace of mind while shopping online.

When you use your OAS FCU Debit or Credit Card online, you might see a message asking you to confirm the transaction with an OTP.
A one-time passcode is required only when Visa’s system identifies a transaction that needs extra verification. If your transaction requires a passcode, you will be prompted to choose how to receive it.
You can receive the passcode via text to your mobile phone or to the email address we have on file. However, for transactions using the OAS FCU VISA Credit Card, you will only have the option to receive it via email.
Once you receive your passcode, simply enter it in the pop-up box on your screen to confirm the transaction and complete your purchase.

Important Reminder: Your one-time passcode is unique to each transaction. Never share it with anyone who contacts you asking for it. OAS FCU will never ask you to share a passcode.

A One-Time Passcode (OTP) is a security feature for transactions where your OAS FCU Debit or Credit Card isn’t present, such as online shopping. It is activated when a transaction appears suspicious, providing an extra layer of protection for your account. Before completing your purchase, you’ll receive an OTP via SMS or email (for credit card transactions, you’ll only have the email option), along with the purchase amount. You must enter this OTP on your device's screen to finalize your transaction.

No. Only certain purchases will require further authentication. Visa’s security system determines which transactions need this extra layer of protection.

Before completing your purchase, a pop-up window will appear letting you know you need to enter a passcode. You can choose to receive it via text or email. For credit card transactions, you’ll only have the email option.

If we have an incorrect phone number or email address on file, you will not receive your passcode. Please update your contact details through Online Banking or by sending the correct information via secure message in the Message Center.

Incorrect One-Time Passcode options may be due to outdated or incomplete contact information. Please send us a secure message through Online Banking in the Message Center with your account number and updated contact details, or call us any time at 202-458-3834 for assistance. Ensure all communication is done securely.

No, this feature applies to all OAS FCU Debit and Credit Cards. If you choose not to use it, you will need to select a different payment method.
