Together, our impact reaches far beyond banking.

Community involvement at OAS FCU is rooted in who we are — a cooperative built on care, responsibility, and collective strength.

Our members live around the world, and so does our commitment to supporting their financial wellbeing and the communities where they work and live.

People helping people — our cooperative promise

Everything we do is guided by a simple idea: when people support each other, possibilities open.

From financial education to sustainable initiatives, we invest in programs that strengthen our community’s financial wellbeing, resilience, and long-term security.

Our commitment includes:

  • Trusted financial guidance for every life stage — from first accounts to homeownership and beyond.

  • Member-first solutions designed for global professionals who live diverse financial realities.

  • Digital access and inclusion, so every member —wherever they live— may bank confidently and securely.

  • Support for our Selected Employee Groups (SEGs) partners, helping their employees and families thrive.

Sustainability & Green Initiatives

Caring for the planet is part of caring for people.

Our commitment to sustainability grew from a simple truth shared at the United in Sustainability Summit, co-hosted with the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU)6: Credit unions have a unique opportunity to turn global goals into meaningful, local action within their communities.

Since then, our actions and partnerships have been inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 — a global framework for building a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable world by 2030.

We focus our efforts where we can create the greatest impact:

  • Goal 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth: empowering members through financial education, access, and inclusion.

  • Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption & Production: reducing waste through eStatements, digital tools, and sustainable procurement.

  • Goal 13 – Climate Action: supporting initiatives that promote environmental responsibility and encourage sustainable choices within the communities we serve.

Tree-for-eStatement program.

Every member who switches to eStatements helps plant a tree through our partnership with the non-profit organization One Tree Planted2, supporting reforestation and global biodiversity.

Green financial solutions.

From Electric & Hybrid Auto Loans to Green Home Equity options and EV charger financing, we offer lending solutions that support members sustainable choices — with competitive terms designed for long-term financial wellbeing.

Digital sustainability.

More online applications, fewer forms, less paper. By digitizing processes, we reduce waste, improve efficiency, and minimize our environmental footprint.

Operational sustainability.

Our headquarters renovation incorporates energy-efficient systems, recycled materials, and greener workspaces to reduce resource consumption and create a healthier environment for staff and members.

Green Committee initiatives.

Our internal Green Committee drives day-to-day sustainability efforts — from recycling campaigns and Earth Day activations, staff awareness and training on responsible environmental practices.

As part of our long-term vision, the Committee continues exploring additional initiatives that strengthen our environmental and ethical standards as an organization.

One Tree Planted: Small Actions, Global Impact

When members choose paperless banking, the impact multiplies.

Each new eStatement enrollment = one tree planted2.

A simple, everyday action that reduces waste and supports reforestation.

Together, we contribute to global reforestation efforts — helping restore forests, support biodiversity, and strengthen communities through the initiatives we fund2.

Our Role in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals

Since 2019, OAS FCU has proudly aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)1 — a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

We recognize that as a global cooperative, we have both the responsibility and the opportunity to drive progress through financial inclusion, ethical partnerships, and sustainable growth.

Our approach:

• Embed SDG principles into our daily operations, partnerships, and product design.

• Promote education, equality, and climate resilience within our community and supply chain.

Community Care & Cooperative Impact

As a Credit Union:

  • Member deposits fund loans to other members.

  • Earnings return to the community through competitive rates and member-focused fees structure.5

  • Programs strengthen resilience and financial inclusion.

“That’s not charity or marketing — it’s the cooperative model working as it was meant to.”
