Member Support Resources

General

No — it depends on the product. Many plans are designed for U.S. citizens and residents, but WCN also specializes in serving international staff, consultants, G4/G5 visa holders, embassy personnel, and families abroad. Some products may have restrictions by status or location; book a free consultation to explore options.

Yes! Bundling policies can save you money and simplify your coverage. WCN advisors will show available bundles and potential savings during your consultation.

Absolutely. Many plans include worldwide protection or international extensions. Coverage varies by product, so ask about specific limits and exclusions.4

Request a quote online or schedule a call with a WCN bilingual advisor. They’ll guide you step by step through all your options.

Online Banking

Yes — IRAs are insured up to $250,000 per owner.1 At OAS FCU, IRAs can only be opened by U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a valid Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number.

Yes. NCUA protection applies to all OAS FCU members, regardless of where you live. The coverage rules are the same, though some account types (for example, IRAs or certain trust structures) may require U.S. tax identifiers or extra documentation to open at OAS FCU.

Each ownership category is insured separately and aggregated by category up to $250,000. This means that all accounts you hold within the same ownership category are added together and insured up to the applicable limit.

You may have separate coverage across different ownership categories — such as individual accounts, joint accounts, retirement accounts (IRAs), and certain trust categories.

Use the estimator or contact Member Services to better understand your total coverage.

The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, administered by NCUA (the National Credit Union Administration), is a U.S. government agency that protects eligible deposit accounts at federally insured credit unions—like OAS FCU—up to $250,000 per ownership category. Eligible accounts include savings, checking, and share certificates. Coverage is automatic when you open qualifying accounts.

Most CO-OP ATMs are in the U.S. and parts of Canada. If you’re abroad—you can use the NYCE, STAR, Cirrus, Pulse, or Plus networks.4

Please note that international transactions often carry a surcharge—usually around 1.5% of the transaction amount—charged by the ATM operator and possibly other fees outside OAS FCU’s control.5

ATM fees usually include two charges: one from your bank for using an out-of-network ATM, and another from the ATM owner as a convenience fee. At OAS FCU, we don’t charge fees for using any ATM but please note the ATM owner may charge a fee.3,4,5  To avoid fees, always use CO-OP Network ATMs or Citibank branch ATMs listed above.

Debit & Credit Cards

We report your monthly payments to credit bureaus to help establish or improve your credit history.4

Yes! The Secured Visa card helps you build credit safely from scratch with monthly reporting to bureaus.

Visa updates its exchange rate daily at 2:05 PM Central U.S. time, applied to foreign currency transactions with no markups.

We recommend notifying us before traveling to avoid interruptions and keep your card working smoothly.5

Yes, link bank accounts or debit cards (U.S. or international) for automatic or manual payments.6

Set up automatic recurring payments via Online Banking, the Card Management Site, or the Loan Payment Portal. Prefer manual payments? Mail a check, use your bank’s bill pay service to pay VISA or our branches, pay in person at a branch, or call us or VISA for help.6

Transfers & Payments

Log in to Online or Mobile Banking → Transfers → Add External Account.

We will send two micro-deposits to verify ownership before you can start sending transfers.3

External transfers are available only for personal accounts (not business or investment accounts).

Please note: the sending institution and any financial intermediaries may charge their own fees.10
