This scholarship is offered and managed by Credit Union Foundation MD|DC. OAS FCU members who will be studying for an undergraduate degree or in trade school in the United States in the fall term of 2025 may apply for one of ten essay-based $2,000 scholarships, and one of two video-based scholarships. The applicant must be enrolled to receive the scholarship. Parental membership does not qualify an applicant. The deadline for submitting completed applications is 11:59 PM EST, April 15, 2025. The winners will be announced in June 2025. Winners may be asked to pose for a photo receiving their award at OAS FCU, whenever possible; if authorized, OAS FCU will publish the winner’s first initial and last name alongside their image on a press release and/or social media.
By applying for this scholarship, you authorize OAS FCU, Credit Union Foundation MD|DC and their partners, agents, representatives, assigns, successors in interest and licensees, to photograph, audiotape, and/or videotape you and grant the them and their partners the irrevocable right to use your photograph, audio recording, video recording, or any reproduction or modification thereof (the “Photograph,” “Audio,” and/or “Video”), in any manner or medium throughout the world an unlimited number of times in perpetuity in advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition, or any other lawful purpose. You understand that you will not receive any monetary compensation for the permissions you are granting them herein. You hereby waive any right of inspection of approval of the uses to which OAS FCU and the Credit Union Foundation MD|DC may put the Photograph, Audio, and/or Video. You acknowledge that OAS FCU and Credit Union Foundation MD|DC will rely on this permission and hereby release and discharge them from all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the Photograph or the exercise of the permissions granted here, including any or all claims for libel, invasion of privacy, or emotional distress.
