Before you travel


Travel notification

Log onto your Online Banking and complete the travel notification form so that our security department is aware of your plans. Make sure to provide a phone number where you can be reached at your destination.

Emergency contact
Take note of the Visa Global Customer Assistance Service emergency number for your destination in case of emergency and the ones that appear in our webpage, in case you need to contact us.

4-digit PIN
Some merchants may require a four-digit numeric PIN when using your OAS FCU debit card and/or credit card, even those without chip. Make sure you remember it (and don’t write it down!).

IDs and Card copies
IDs and Card copies – Keep a record of your passport, debit and credit cards, and keep that record in a safe place, away from your wallet and handbag.

Debit card daily limit
Remember that your OAS FCU debit card has a US$2,000 daily limit for purchases and/or payments, and $600 for cash withdrawals*.

Limit increase
If needed, you may request a temporary limit increase by sending us a secure email through the Online Banking system:
Contact us/Temporary Increase Limit.


Expiration date
Check your debit and credit cards’ expiration dates and make sure that they won’t expire while you’re away.

Chip technology
If you haven’t received your new card with the EMV technology, you may contact us head of time to request one.

Verify your login credentials for your Online Banking so that you can monitor your transactions, verify Account balances and perform transactions while you travel.

Either way, you can review the activity on your credit card and pay bills online while travelling, or leave them programmed before travelling.

* In order to safeguard your money and avoid having you fall victim of the constant thefts taking place with debit cards in Brazil nowadays, the daily limit for ATM withdrawals is $300 and $600 for purchases if you live or travel in this country.
