Who We are

Paragraph Header

OAS Staff Federal Credit Union, a non-profit, full service financial cooperative, was organized and chartered in 1962 by several employees of the Organization of American States. These employees founded the Credit Union because they recognized the need to provide an affordable source of credit and financial services to their colleagues and family members, who usually faced some limitations as newcomers to the United States. In its first year, the Credit Union opened 286 accounts and collected more than $15,000 in deposits.

Since then, OAS Staff FCU has grown to nearly 5,000 accounts and more than $129 million in assets. We have evolved to serve, in a convenient manner, the employees, family/household members and retirees of OAS. We also serve select employee groups at other organizations (hyperlink: list of other organizations) such as IICA (the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture), the Pan-American Development Fund, the Development Getaway Foundation and the Inter-American Dialogue. Our top priority is to provide the highest quality of personalized financial service worldwide!
